Slide Stroke and Throat Depth

The slide stroke of the press brake determines the maximum bending depth that the press brake punches can achieve, while the throat depth limits the installation position of the upper dies on the press brake and the size range of the workpieces that can be processed. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the selected upper dies can work properly within the slide stroke and throat depth of the press brake.

High – precision press brake tools can ensure indicators such as the accuracy of the bending angle, straightness, and flatness. For example, for some sheet metal processing with high – precision requirements, when using a CNC press brake, it is necessary to select press brake tools with an accuracy within ±0.1° to ensure product quality.

The material of the press brake tools should be selected according to factors such as the working load of the press brake, the nature of the processed material, and the production batch. Generally, for press brakes processing high – strength sheets, press brake tools made of cemented carbide or high – chromium alloy steel are required. These tools have high hardness and wear resistance, can withstand large pressures and frictions, and extend the service life of the tools.

Installation and Fixing Methods

Installation Interfaces

The installation interface form of the press brake tools should match the installation system of the press brake. Common installation interfaces include dovetail grooves, T – slots, bolt connections, etc. For example, if press brakes use dovetail groove installation interfaces of specific specifications, the selected press brake tools must also have a corresponding dovetail groove structure. Its dimensions and accuracy must meet the equipment requirements to ensure that the press brake tools can be accurately and firmly installed on the press brake.

Fixing Methods

The fixing method of the press brake tools should be reliable, able to withstand the huge pressure during the bending process without displacement or loosening. Some press brake tools may use bolt – fastening methods. It is necessary to pay attention to the specifications, quantity, and tightening torque of the bolts to ensure that the tools are firmly installed. At the same time, it should also be considered whether the fixing method is convenient for the quick replacement and adjustment of the press brake tools to improve production efficiency.

Working Pressure and Tonnage

The press brake tools should be able to withstand the maximum working pressure applied by the press brake, and its bearing capacity should match the tonnage of the press brake. If the bearing capacity of the dies is insufficient, it may be deformed, damaged, or even cause a safety accident during the bending process. For example, for a 100 – ton press brake, the rated bearing capacity of the selected press brake tools should be no less than 100 tons to ensure the reliability of the dies under normal working conditions.

Uniformity of Pressure Distribution

The press brake tools should be able to evenly distribute the pressure on the sheet during operation to avoid situations where the local pressure is too high or too low. This requires a reasonable structural design of press brake tools, such as using special reinforcing rib structures or optimized pressure – transfer methods to ensure that a uniform bending effect can be obtained when bending sheets of different shapes and sizes.
